The kickoff of the MV Book Festival 2023 features the brilliant minds of Kara Swisher and Seth Meyers in conversation. Renowned tech journalist Kara Swisher and beloved late-night host Seth Meyers discuss the state of journalism, the latest tech trends, AI, media, the art of interviewing and much more - all with their signature wisdom, wit and humor.

This event is a fundraiser for the Martha's Vineyard Book Festival, a free festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 5-6, which brings best selling authors to Martha's Vineyard for two days of free author talks, panel discussions and book signings.

Kara Swisher is considered the top reporter in the tech game. She has been reporting on the industry since the early 1990s. She was there when Amazon was looking for its first headquarters in Seattle, when Google was in its garage and when Netflix was just a small startup. Once called “Silicon Valley's most feared but revered journalist,” Swisher has established herself as the oracle of the tech world with unrivaled access to the industry's most significant leaders. She is host of On with Kara Swisher, co-host of the Pivot podcast, and editor-at- large at New York Magazine. She is the former host of the Sway and Recode Decode podcasts and co- founder of the technology website, Recode, and tech conference, Code, which is the country’s premier conference on tech and media.

Seth Meyers is an Emmy Award-winning writer and host of NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” Meyers has garnered 29 Emmy nominations for his work in television. In 2019, Meyers released his debut standup special, “Lobby Baby,” on Netflix. Meyers began his TV career with “Saturday Night Live” in 2001, where he was a cast member for 13 seasons. He served as head writer for nine seasons and “Weekend Update” anchor for eight. In 2011, Meyers won the Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for host Justin Timberlake’s musical monologue. Meyers is a New York Times bestselling author with the publication of his first picture book, I’m Not Scared, You’re Scared, released in March 2022.
