The Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival and Author Series is made possible by dozens of dedicated volunteers each year. The passion, drive, and positivity of the festival’s volunteer community is inspiring—dozens of community members donating their time and gathering together on a weekend for a common purpose. If you love books and being a part of a team, you are a perfect fit to be part of our volunteer community.

We’re looking for volunteers to greet attendees, provide directions, distribute programs, act as ushers, serve at the information booth, assist with book signings and book sales, and much more. You can volunteer for half-day or full-day shifts. Please read the specific criteria below and use the application link to sign up today. Please also note that the Festival is outside in the sun, and volunteering can involve considerable standing and walking on the festival grounds.

All volunteers must:

• be at least 16 years of age

• commit to at least one 4.5 hour shift

• attend a mandatory training session in advance of the festival.
